About the Publisher and Author

Ruth Kirkwood wrote her first children’s book, Cannonball & Finn, and began a venture into publishing.

She founded Ruby’s Polka Dot Press as a publishing house for children’s picture books inspired by the phenomena of nature.

Ruth Kirkwood has been inspired by nature from her early days exploring her state of Maine and around the country. These experiences influenced her during her career in education, as well as in her own personal writing pursuits. Read More.

About the Book

Cannonball and Finn is for children from 1 – 8 years, and because the story is based on a real natural phenomena, it’s also a fun read for the entire family.

The book is 8.5″ x 11″ with 32 full-color pages. Currently it is available in softcover, and a hardcover will soon be available.
